Energy Thinking
8 short videos. DVD.
We take electricity for granted, but how often do we think about where it comes from, its environmental costs, or what we can do differently? We do have a choice–and this series takes us into the world of energy, from the impacts of various sources to opportunities for efficiency, to the renewable alternatives that are becoming more prevalent everyday. These short videos were derived from our award-winning GreenWorks public television series and compiled to complement the ENERGY THINKING curriculum unit, which was created by the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) for Pennsylvania’s Office of Environment and Ecology.
Getting Polluted Runoff Under Control
10 short videos. DVD.
Storms are a serious problem in Pennsylvania because heavy rains cause flooding and erosion and carry polluted runoff into local waterways, affecting human end environmental health.
Instead of multibillion-dollar tunnel systems, Philadelphia’s “green” plan for dealing with wet weather overflows is transforming the city into an oasis of rain gardens, vegetated rooftops, treescapes, and porous pavements—which is making for a healthier, more liveable place. This series looks at the the City of Brotherly Love’s ambitious green infrastructure program and other innovative solutions that developers, homeowners, and farmers are implementing in other parts of the state.
StormwaterPA Volume One
